 День рождения прекрасного старинного города Суздаль – 9 августа. Неслучайно Суздаль таким родным мне показался. Ведь это и мой день рождения…
Город Суждаль впервые упоминается в 1024 году.
Вот как писал в XVIII столетии Анания Федоров, автор «Исторического собрания о богоспасаемом граде Суждале»: «По положению места, той град имеется построенный на месте красном, ни весьма гористом, ниже паки доловатом и мокром не несколько, хотя местами и долини имущее, но сухое и приятное и к плодоношению всякому угодное не токмо овощия, но древес, садовых множество плодящее... Воздух веема приятный и здравый, в средине лета от солнца и в средине зимы от студени средство содержащи, где ни безмерная теплота, ниже чрезвычайная бывает стужа, но все в меру и сносно и к житию человеческому приятное угодное место...»

From Moscow to Italy and back in a Nissan Note
(a log-book of a journey)

First of all, our general impressions. It was a great trip, no doubt about it! We saw many places and we traveled through even more places. :) We have tons of photos and impressions for the whole year. We traveled to Italy via Belarus, Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria. The route to Italy through Slovenia is probably righter and faster but we wanted to visit Vienna so much. And we did not regret it. The only thing we regret that we had planned very little time for that wonderful city. Though the weather was hazy rainy and cold, the impressions of Vienna are all but brightest and sweetest. Austria fascinated us with its charm and friendly people and the next trip we are planning now is a trip to that country.
We were a bit disappointed with Italy. Of course there are very beautiful and interesting places there, for example, Tarquinia, Florence or Venice. But these are gems on rather faint general background. To put it lightly, Italy is a very specific country. :)
